We are dedicated to defending students' rights, coordinating bursaries and scholarship grants, establishing durable school helpdesks, and building mutual welfare strategies across our diverse tertiary chapters in Nigeria and the diaspora.

Our Rich History and Ancestral Legacy

The Iragbiji National Student Union was born decades ago from the shared aspirations of young, forward-thinking scholars of Iragbiji origin. As students travelled across Osun State and migrated across Nigeria to pursue высшее образование (higher education), a centralized union became essential to serve as their administrative anchor. From a humble group of students gathering during semester breaks, INSU blossomed into a nationally respected organization with active networks inside the country's preeminent tertiary schools (including Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Ilorin, University of Ibadan, Osun State University, and other prestigious institutes).

Throughout our history, INSU has enjoyed deep alliances with traditional, political, and academic stakeholders. Central to this support is our Royal Patron, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji. Under this royal guidance and active patronage, INSU has established its physical administration offices inside the Palace Secretariat Block, Palace Way, Iragbiji. Additionally, Oba Aragbiji has facilitated the setup of fully subsidized spaces, helping local students study, write reviews, interact with peer researchers, and preserve Iragbiji's historical heritage and monarchical wisdom.

Our Core Constitutional Objectives

Bounded by the written legal mandates of the Iragbiji National Student Union Supreme Constitution, we mobilize our resources and coordinate our collective programs around five cardinal pillars:

• Indigene Student Unity: Fostering permanent peace, progress, mutual collaboration, and deep cultural bonding among all student indigenes of Iragbiji origin worldwide.
• Academic and Civil Welfare: Representing, amplifying, and defending the educational liberties, needs, and civil rights of our student members wherever they enroll.
• Educational Infrastructure Support: Creating and funding indigent bursary grants, setting up UTME registration support helpdesks, distributing textbooks, and structuring free secondary school coaching models.
• Cultural and Landmark Preservation: Cataloguing, promoting, and protecting the rich history, ancient legends, monuments, and cultural assets of Iragbiji town.
• Community Welfare and Advocacy: Sowing direct community development programs, organizing environmental health campaigns in Iragbiji, and collaborating on health seminars with global alumni bodies.

Administrative Hierarchy & Executive Council

The representative governance of the Iragbiji National Student Union is divided into three coordinated arms of student representation: the National Executive Council (NEC), the Senate, and the General Assembly. This classic democratic structure ensures transparency, accountability, and the representation of all student chapters. The National Executive is headed by the National President, along with the Vice President, General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Public Relations Officer, and other constitutional portfolios. These leaders work tirelessly from the Palace Secretariat Block to run programs, resolve students' complaints, distribute bursaries, and manage tertiary networks.

To maintain constant connection with our students, INSU coordinates localized chapters across major higher education institutions in Nigeria. These chapters are guided by active Chapter Presidents who represent the National Secretariat on campus:

• INSU Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Chapter, Ile-Ife: A vibrant intellectual hub promoting regional scholarship and student leadership.
• INSU University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Chapter, Ilorin: Safeguarding welfare and providing dynamic academic mentorship schemes.
• INSU University of Ibadan (UI) Chapter, Ibadan: Fostering educational breakthroughs, research, and scholarly excellence.
• INSU Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Chapter: Connecting multi-campus scholars around joint regional improvement files.
• INSU Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Chapter: Preparing students for technology-driven student governance.
• INSU Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Chapter, Ogbomoso: Driving technical research and community development initiatives.

INSU runs an active calendar of events designed to uplift the student population and the wider Iragbiji community. Our preeminent annual event is the prestigious INSU Annual Dinner & Awards Night. This grand celebration brings together student scholars, distinguished alumni, academic icons, and royal leaders to review achievements, present academic honors and bursaries, and network for professional career entries. Other regular events include the Annual Leadership Summit, free coaching and scholarship preparations, Inter-school academic debates across secondary schools, and student joint-volunteering programs.
